This is the first Africarium in Poland. The facility was opened on October 26, 2014 as part of the Wrocław zoo. This complex presents various ecosystems related to the Black Earth's aquatic environment. The biggest attraction is the underwater tunnel made of acrylic glass. (Mozambique Channel). It is in it that you can watch sharks from the side, from above and from below. In addition to these predators, we will see rays, sea turtle, sunfish and octopus. In addition to the tunnel, we have 19 aquariums and pools with a capacity of almost 15,000,000 liters of water. They present animals inhabiting the beaches and coral reef of the Red Sea, the River Nile, the land of the Great African Rift, the beaches of the Skeleton Coast (Namibia) and the Congo basin jungle. So here we will see a total of over 100 species of animals: fish found in the Red Sea (about 20 thousand pieces), desert turtles, about 50 different species of fish from the lakes of Tanganyika and Malawi, rays, hammerhead sharks and leopard sharks occurring in the region of the Mozambique Channel. In addition, Nile hippos and savannah animals (ants, antelopes), African tunnels (small penguins) and cats from the Namibian Coast, as well as crocodiles, otters, the only manatees in Poland (called sea cows) found in the Congo jungle, Dikdiki - the smallest antelopes in the world the size of a cat and naked rodents - nude. You can also admire various species of monkeys and birds. The Africarium will also include: - a conference room for 160 people, - an educational room for about 30 people, - a bistro-style restaurant, - an observation deck, - a souvenir shop.
