It is the oldest zoological garden in Poland in the present Polish lands and the largest in terms of the number of animals. Its area is 33 hectares. The garden's infrastructure includes several valuable historic buildings, most of them are the work of Karl Schmidt. Among them we can distinguish, among others: - Bear Tower - a red brick building, originally according to the name bears were presented here, then wild boars and wolves, and from the beginning of the 21st century owls, - House of large predators - large felids are exhibited here, - Elephant room - currently there are elephants, Nile hippos, pygmy hippos and Ant tapirs, - Restaurant building from 1885 - currently an exhibition of live specimens of reptiles and amphibians, - Monkey Pavilion - was built in Moorish style in 1887, - Bird Pavilion from 1889, - House Nutria, - Wooden gate in the Japanese style, - Runways and shelters for bears and seals, - Runway and shelters for baboons built in 1939 from blocks of Carboniferous granite, - Pre-war pavilion - currently inhabited by emu, cranes and marabou, - Fish pavilion with aquariums, - Entrance gate from the 1930s. Modern facilities look like this: - lynx and wildcat runs - opened in 2012, - bear run brown knowledge - the largest facility of this type in Poland, - sealarium - a pool with a capacity of almost 1000 m³ with modern acrylic panels enabling underwater view, - Madagascar Pavilion - pavilion with a free flight hall and night exposure being the home for Madagascar's fauna and flora, - Terai Pavilion - a building with external paddocks inhabited by Indian rhinos, gibbons, hats, muntangs and jellangs, - Gibbon Pagoda - occupied by a pair of white-cheeked gibbon and Filipino cannulas, - Sajmiri Pavilion - inhabited by a group of squirrel sajmiri - small monkeys from South America, - Secrets of Sahara a building where animals from the world's largest desert are exhibited (incl. dromedars, fennecs, long-eared hedgehogs, saber oryxes, guinea fowls - terrarium - created as early as 1885, but constantly modified, the most characteristic change was the creation of Varzei - a terrarium depicting the flooded Amazon forest (2012) and butterfly gardens, - okapi and pig pavilion river, - Ranch - an extension of a child's animal inhabited by Shetland ponies, haflingers and Poitou donkeys, - Odrarium, - and the only modern Africarium in Poland - a complex of buildings with an oceanarium presenting African animals. The Zoological Garden in Wrocław is adjacent to Hala Stulecia. There are many interesting specimens here - from the most popular ones to the unique ones on a global scale. Children, for whom all kinds of attractions are foreseen, will especially like it. The youngest visitors will be interested not only in animals, but for example a playground, ice cream parlor or the possibility of feeding animals. In the summer, in nice weather, ponies are available for tourists to ride on. After a long day of impressions, you can go to a local cafe or restaurant and eat tasty meals.
