Panorama of the Battle of Racławice is a picture with a length of 114 meters and a height of 15 meters depicting the battle of Racławice, in which the participants of the Insurrection led by Tadeusz Kościuszko defeated the Russians. The painting is exhibited in a specially constructed rotunda. The painting was created in 1893-1894 in Lviv, on the hundredth anniversary of the Kościuszko Uprising. The originator and main author of the picture was the Lviv painter Jan Styka, who engaged in the work on the canvas, among others Wojciech Kossak, Tadeusz Popiel, Teodor Axentowicz, Włodzimierz Tetmajer. The work on the painting lasted nine months. The rotunda built in Stryjeński Park, in which the Racławice Panorama was presented, quickly became one of the attractions of Lviv. After World War II, Panorama Racławicka was transported to Wrocław. The picture has been in magazines for many years, primarily for political reasons - it shows the victory of Poles over the Russians, and People's Poland found itself in the sphere of influence of the Soviet Union. It wasn't until 1980 that the construction of a rotunda for the Racławice Panorama exhibition began in Wrocław, and a year later - the reconstruction of the destroyed painting. The picture in Wroclaw can be seen since 1985.
