One of the oldest Romanesque castles located in Poland, amazing with its size and powerful towers. It is located in the northeast of the old town, on the banks of Kaczawa. The tall, diverse buildings surrounding the courtyard contain the premises of three schools and one part of it has been adapted for the field. The first tower of St. Piotr from the east comes from the 15th century, has a balustrade porch, a long, flanked walkway on French type machikułach and a superstructure with a row of large windows, which can be considered the first belvedere in Silesia. There is a Green Chamber with magnificent paintings. The second western, slightly smaller is the tower of St. Jadwiga. Both towers are cylindrical with an octagonal superstructure. They used to be free-standing keepers with entrances high above the castle courtyard. Today, buildings adjoin them, of which the most important is the palatium or ducal palace. The ground floor of the palatium was occupied by utility rooms, on the first floor there was a row of portals and windows. The second floor of the castle consists of 3 living rooms of the prince from the west and a large representative room from the east. The only object intended for tourism purposes are the foundations of the Romanesque castle chapel located in a specially built pavilion. The chapel is built on a 12-meter diameter plan with a diameter of 12.5 m, has 6 pillars inside. It had rich rib rib vaults - details of them are exhibited in the Museum of Architecture in Wrocław. It was a two-level temple, the ground floor had an entrance from the north and the first floor connected with the prince's private chambers in the palatium. The Lubińska Tower from the north has not survived to this day from the oldest parts of the stronghold, in its place today there is a black portal, while from the later ones: the clock tower and bastions, from which the north-west has well exposed basement walls. The clock tower was replaced by a tower in the middle of the wing dividing the courtyard.
