The Church of Peace was built between 1654 and 1655. Its creation is connected with the provisions of the Peace of Westphalia, ending the Thirty Years' War (1618-1648). Under it, the emperor had to agree to build evangelical churches in three Silesian cities: in Głogów, Jawor and Świdnica. They were to be located in the suburbs, built of materials unworthy of the House of God: wood, clay and straw, as well as not having a tower (the current one comes from the first quarter of the 18th century). The designer of this temple was the Wrocław architect Albrecht von Säbisch. Andreas Gamper, a master from Jawor, advised him on carpentry. A rectangular building was created, ended with a three-sided presbytery. During its construction a wooden half-timbered structure was used, filled with clay and straw according to the imperial order. The interior is baroque. Attention is drawn to the four-story galleries - the oldest II and IV were built together with the construction of this temple, decorated with scenes from the Old and New Testaments. On the other hand, I and III were added at the beginning of the 18th century, with different themes - images of the coats of arms of the surrounding nobility dominate here, sometimes even with images of their family houses and guild emblems. The altar was made in 1672 by Michael Schneider. The six-sided basket pulpit, supported by an angel, is the work of the sculptor Mateusz Knothe's workshop in Legnica, and its construction dates back to 1670. Another interesting monuments include the baptismal font of the foundation of Georg von Schweinitz from Kłaczyna and his wife Anna (1656). By the west wall there are organs built in 1855. The whole is covered by a coffer vault decorated with painting decorations. In the area of the current park around the Church, there was originally a Protestant cemetery, which was liquidated in 1972. The temple has been enchanting with its mastery of craftsmanship and rich decor for centuries. It is a testament to the turbulent history of Europe, a pearl of world heritage. Inside it, Jawor Peace Concerts have been held for years. In December 2001, it was inscribed on the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage List. In September 2005, the temple celebrated the 350th anniversary of the uprising.
